CrossWave HydroSteam vs Bissell CrossWave HF3 - Battle of Bissell's New Hard Floor Cleaners

What We Loved

  • Brush-roll agitation strength
soft rollers that are great for collecting debris on hard floors
  • Dried-on stain cleaning performance
Hydra steam did outperform the hf3 here
  • Generic Performance
performed extremely well in most of our pickup tests
  • LED headlights brightness / usefulness
LED lights on the floor head which helps to see any debris that might have otherwise gone unnoticed
  • Sanitizing performance
extra heat gives it more sanitizing power
  • Steam cleaning performance
produces steam which is supposed to make it better at cleaning dried on stains
  • Suction power (air watts)
Hydra steam had the highest score that we've seen so far more than double the average for this category
  • Value-for-money
    a good buy
  • Wet glow-in-the-dark test performance
    performed better than average here
  • Wet-dry 2-in-1 design
premium vacuum mop combos with plenty of impressive features
  • Wet-spill pickup capacity (for wet-dry vacs)
they both did a fantastic job

Just Okay

  • Cleaning performance on hard floors
designed to handle hard floors and pick up any debris that's lying around
  • Corded power requirement for steam
corded but that makes sense because it needs more power than a cordless vacuum because it uses steam which takes a lot of energy
  • Mopping performance (robotic or wet-dry)
can also mop your floors at the same time
  • Self-cleaning cycle effectiveness
self-cleaning mode where you can place them in their dock push a button and it will run clean water over the brush and through the system

Needs Improvement

  • Large-debris pick-up
made it a bit more challenging for it to handle big pieces of debris
  • Weight
hydrosteam is one of the heaviest
