What We Loved

• Crema thickness & textureThe crema isn’t quite as thick and stable as that created by the KitchenAid KF6, but it’s still up there with the best espresso machines
• Cup clearance / adjustable drip trayBoth dispensers can be easily moved up and down to accommodate different sized cups
• Ease of cleaningcomes with a two-part tank that sits on top of the drip tray when it’s time for a deep clean. Just add some cleaning tablets... the machine will do the restOne feature I particularly appreciated was its ability to run a rinsing cycle automatically when it hasn't been used for a certain period of time
• Ease of refilling water tankThe J10's water tank is accessed by lifting a flap at the top... It’s easy to remove, reinsert, and carry to the tap thanks to a convenient folding handle
• Froth texture / microfoam qualityExcellent milk texturizingThe J10 does an impressive job of texturizing milk, on a par with the excellent Siemens EQ900 PlusMilk is perfectly foamed, and Sweet Foam system works brilliantly
• Grind consistency (built-in grinder)thanks to a grinder that monitors the consistency of the grind, from which the J10 recommends the optimum temperature and extraction time for each drink

• Drip-tray capacity & splash controlWide, shallow drip tray can result in spillagesThe drip tray is unusually shallow, which means you have to take care not to spill its contents

What We Loved

• Froth texture / microfoam qualitythe ability to foam both hot and cold milk – yes, you can finally make iced latte macchiatos in the comfort of your own kitchen
• Iced / cold-brew function qualitythe Jura J10 makes the most well-rounded cold-extracted espresso I've had from any home coffee maker, and in a blind taste test, I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference between the J10's cold americano and coffee steeped in a pitcher overnight
• Milk temperature controlSweetFoam...adds your preferred flavor to the milk as it's foamed. During testing, I found it made both hot and cold foam more stable, so it lasts to the last sip
• Overall cup quality / flavor balanceEven though I used the same beans in both, coffee from the Jura had more body
• Pump pressure consistencythe J10 uses pulses of high-pressure water to make its cold espresso, which extracts more flavor from the freshly-ground beans

Needs Improvement

• Pricethe Jura J10 is one of the most expensive coffee makers I've ever had my hands on
