Miele Blizzard CX1 Bagless Canister Vacuum Review - Hard Truths Of Bagless

What We Loved

  • Cleaning performance on carpet
good overall but left some fine sand where the belt drive sits
  • Cleaning performance on hard floors
handled the hard-floor pickup test with ease
  • Suction power (air watts)
might be the highest bagless vacuum I've tested to date

Just Okay

  • Dust-bin emptying
you'd want to do that outside
  • Hair-wrap prevention / anti-tangle tech
we see a lot of hair on the brush-roll

Needs Improvement

  • Attachment variety & compatibility
upholstery tool is much smaller and dusting brush doesn’t store on board
  • Dust-bin capacity
Bag versions hold about four times as much dust
  • Filter replacement cost
    this filter is 130 bucks
  • Filter washability
definitely do not wash this paper filter — it delaminates
  • Filtration quality (HEPA rating, multi-stage)
dust builds up and leaks past the filter
  • Maneuverability & swivel steering
hose placement makes it awkward and very big to drive around
  • Ongoing ownership costs (bags, filters, batteries)
not saving any money even though it's bagless
  • Power-cord length & auto-retract (corded)
cord feels really short despite the spec
  • Stair-cleaning convenience
one of the bulkiest canisters I’ve tried to stair-clean with
  • Storage footprint & upright-stand stability
much larger than a full-size canister
  • Value-for-money
I wouldn’t recommend it at the current price
  • Weight & balance
almost a rolling coffee table in size and weight
