What We Loved

  • Aesthetic design & finishThe first thing you'll notice about the Debot X9 Pro Omni is its design, which is slightly refreshed compared to the previous generation model.Eovax has definitely refined the aesthetic. They've also added this nice brushed metal finish that, while still plastic when you get up close, gives it a more premium feel from a distance.
  • AI, Smart & App / AutomationThe matter support here is genuinely useful.I was able to add it to Apple Home in under a minute, which means my wife doesn't need to download yet another app just to start a cleaning cycle. The basic controls work great through smart home ecosystems, though you'll still want the Eovax app for more detailed settings.
  • Comparative performanceStill, it's better than most of the competition in this area.which is a combination that's hard to beat.
  • Dried-On Stain RemovalOn this model, you'll get 3,700 pascals of pressure, which means it can actually scrub off those sticky spots that have been sitting there for days.I tested this with things like dried coffee spills and muddy footprints, and it consistently outperform traditional mop pads.
  • Hair‑Wrap / Tangle ResistanceThere's also a new comb feature built into the main brush, which is there to prevent hair tangles, and works pretty well, though it's not perfect.
  • Map & Path Efficiency (Robot Vacuums)The mapping feature made some pretty significant errors when it first scanned my home.It expanded some rooms way beyond their actual size and missed several walls entirely. The good news is that you can edit the map manuallyOnce that's done, though, navigation is solid.
  • Overall opinionThis is probably the most well-rounded robotic vacuum I've used yet.Dayto-day, this thing just works reliably and cleans effectively. If you're looking for the best robotic vacuum cleaner you can get right now, especially if mopping is useful to you, this is it.
  • Price & ValueYes, it's expensive, but the combination of performance, features, and smart home integration make it an excellent robotic vacuum.
  • Self-cleaning cycleyou get this roller that can wash itself as it goes and apply pressure to your floors.
  • Suction & AirflowTechnically, the suction power dropped from 18,000 pascals to 16,600 pascals compared to the X8 Pro Omni, but Eovax claims their new blast suction system is more efficient. In practice, I found it handled everything I threw at it. Cheerios that my daughter threw on the ground, pet hair, regular dust and dirt, and so on.
  • Support & ReliabilityDayto-day, this thing just works reliably and cleans effectively.
  • VersatilityIt's not necessarily the absolute best at vacuuming, but it's excellent at mopping and very good at vacuuming, which is a combination that's hard to beat.

Just Okay

  • Assembly and SetupI did run into some frustrations during initial setup.but it took me about 20 minutes to get everything sorted out.
  • Edge & Baseboard Cleaning (Hard Floors)Where the vacuum occasionally stumbled was picking up debris at the edges next to carpets or door thresholds. It wasn't consistently bad, but sometimes it would leave a bit behind and catch it on the next pass.Still, it's better than most of the competition in this area.
  • Water tankThey remove the transparent water tanks. I assume some like being able to see the water levels at a glance, but I just used the app notifications anyway, so it doesn't really bother me.

What We Loved

  • AI, Smart & App / AutomationEcovacs makes a top-tier app that is easy to use with lots of features and lots of control over the robot and bin behaviors
  • Battery & ChargingIt also has fast charging
  • Carpet — Medium-Pile Pickupin the carpet deep clean test, where we test how good it can pick up deeply embedded debris from carpet, it got an 89%, which is tied for the highest score we've seen from a robot vacuum that has a lifting mop mounted under the robot
  • Comparative performancethe Ecovacs X9 Pro was the big winner, taking home five awards, including Best Overall Robot Vacuum for mid-2025The X9 is currently ranking number one on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 list, and second place isn’t even close
  • Controls & UIEcovacs makes a top-tier app that is easy to use with lots of features and lots of control over the robot and bin behaviors
  • Dirty water sensorThe base also has a dirty water sensor, which can determine how much the pads need to be washed
  • Docking & Auto‑Empty Reliability (Robot)when the robot returns to its base to charge, it will automatically wash the mop pads with hot water, dry the mop pads with hot air, refill the clean tank, and empty the dirty water tank
  • Dried-On Stain Removalit got 158 points out of a possible 184 points on that test, which is one of the highest scores on record
  • Edge & Baseboard Cleaning (Hard Floors)It also automatically extends its mop roller to the side when it's near edges for better edge coverage, which it did well with in our tests
  • Floor Drying Timeit also had much lower than average water left behind, which is good
  • Fresh Liquid Pickup Speedroller-style mops can process wet liquid by squeezing out dirty water into an onboard water tank, which means that they can actually pick up wet spills without spreading them around
  • Hair Pickup — Carpetsin the 2.5-inch flattened pet hair pickup test, where it picked up 93% of the hair, which is much higher than average
  • Hair‑Wrap / Tangle ResistanceThe X9 also has Ecovacs’ new Active Hair Removal System, which is little plastic combs in the brush housing, and in our 7-inch hair tangle test, it got a perfect score with 0% of the hair tangled, where the average is about 38% of the hair tangled
  • Hard Floor — Fine Dust Pickupsweeping up everything from fine to extra-large debris from both surface types very efficiently and without scattering
  • Hard Floor — Large Debris Intakesweeping up everything from fine to extra-large debris from both surface types very efficiently and without scattering
  • Headlight & LED lightsit has an LED light which comes on when it's in low light situations
  • Innovation compared to competitorsEcovacs recently introduced what they're calling Blast Technology
  • Map & Path Efficiency (Robot Vacuums)it uses an internal LiDAR system to map and navigate around, and it did so very efficiently in the various tests that we did, getting a higher-than-average navigation efficiency score
  • Mop lifting systemwhich lifts up automatically when the robot senses carpets to keep carpets dry
  • Obstacle Avoidance (Robot)in the various obstacle avoidance tests we did, it got 19 points out of a possible 24, which is higher than average
  • Overall opinionone of the best—if not the best—robot vacuums we've ever tested
  • Pet-Ready Featuresit also has various pet-related features
  • Solution / Liquid systemIt also has a detergent reservoir if you want to have it mix in mopping solution with the clean water
  • Suction & Airflowin the airflow test that we do, the X9 got 27 CFM, which is one of the highest airflow scores we've ever seen, and its suction power was also way above the average amount too
  • Surface safety with attachmentsThe dock has a self-cleaning cycle using sprayers

Just Okay

  • Bin & BagIt also has a fairly large 3-liter disposable bag for dry debris, which Ecovacs says can contain 3 months of debris before needing to be replacedit also has a lower-than-average internal dustbin capacity at 220 milliliters
  • Corner Cleaning (Robot)doesn't have a few features that we've come to expect from flagships, such as the auto-extending side brush for better corner coverage
  • Stuck resistanceIt also doesn't have advanced threshold crossing featuresIt's limited to thresholds about 20 mm high, which is the standard amount
  • Under-Furniture Pickupits height is around 3.8 inches, which is a touch higher than average

Needs Improvement

  • Runtime (Measured, Boost/Turbo)it actually had a lower-than-average battery score, with both its battery efficiency and average square foot per charge being lower than average
  • Runtime (Measured, Default)it actually had a lower-than-average battery score, with both its battery efficiency and average square foot per charge being lower than average
